When you arrive, an officer will welcome you at the entrance. You need to inform them that you are there for a ‘STUDENT CARD’ application. The officer will provide you with a number.
When you see your number and the window number on the display, you have to go to the particular window, where the officer will initiate the procedure. They will take your ID documents (passport and address card), after which you will need to inform them about the aim of your visit (i.e. to obtain a 'STUDENT CARD'). The officer will take a photo of you, after which you will have to sign a document – the specimen signature you provide will be visible on your student card, for which reason we advise you to provide a genuine one. At the end of the procedure you will be provided with an A4 size paper with your photo and date on it, which is called ’NEK’ datasheet.
You need to bring this form back to the Registrar's Office at the University and they will make you a temporary student card.
Be aware, a temporary student card is valid for three months, so in case your permanent student card is not issued, you can ask for extension.
After submitting the datasheet, the Registrar’s Office will inform you when you can collect your temporary student card. Obtaining the permanent student card could take several months, and will be available at the place of application. You can check the status of the application any time in the Neptun system the following way: Administration menu » Student Card request » FIR status column. If you notice the following message, it means your card is ready, and you can pick it up at the Government Office ('Kormányablak'): 'SIKERES DIÁKIGAZOLVÁNY IGÉNYLÉS' (successful student card application).
Please note that permanent student cards have an expiry date. By registration for the semester you will get a sticker on it and you get a new sticker every semester.
